MANDAUE CITY – 50th CHARTER ANNIVERSARY  (1969-2019)

The City of Mandaue, located at the center of the Eastern coast of Cebu Island, celebrates its 50th Charter Anniversary in 2019. It has evolved from a sleepy trading town to become the progressive industrial hub of Metro Cebu. Its strategic location at the heart of Cebu Province makes Mandaue an ideal center for trade.

Through the years, Mandaue became known as the home of skilled artisans creating masterpieces in wood and other materials. It has produced many pieces of art, and artists renowned for their talents in performing arts. As Mandaue continues to be more progressive, it brings more opportunities for the next generation to grow and prosper, and take an active part of sharing governance.

Mandaue became a chartered city on August 30, 1969 and decades later it was recognized as an HUC (Highly Urbanized City) on February 15, 1991.  In early April 2019, a law was signed that declared Mandaue City as a lone legislative district, which means that it will be separated from the sixth district, and will have its own representative of the lone district

Prominently displayed on the stamp is the anniversary logo: the numeral "50" stylized to display the silhouette of the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge with "Mandaue City" and the founding and present years 1969 and 2019 below it. The stately Mandaue Presidencia or the Mandaue City Hall is laid out underneath.
