FRONTLINE HEROES - FIGHT AGAINST CORONA
VIRUS: WE FIGHT FOR YOU
The Philippine Postal
Corporation (PHLPost) issued the much-awaited stamps to honor
frontliners protecting the nation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 outbreak has
resulted in disruptions across all industries and has prompted
massive changes to the way society operates. Amidst chaos and fear,
superheroes have risen to face unprecedented challenges. Daily,
medical professionals serve as lifelines to those infected with
COVID-19. Our frontliners from the food, courier, and retail
industries ensure that necessary supplies and services reach the
public, while military and police enforce order for community
quarantine.
It is with immense care
and genuine empathy for our frontliners that PHLPost issues these
stamps. This stamp issuance illustrated by in-house creative artist
Rodine C. Teodoro highlights the tireless efforts of the
doctors, delivery
personnel, medical technicians, chefs, nurses, military and grocery
personnel, and police officers. This also honors frontliners
providing essential services such as bank tellers, drivers,
maintenance personnel, and of course, PHLPost letter carriers who go
above and beyond their duties every day.
These stamps commemorate
frontliners’ efforts and legitimize them as the primary agents who
ensure our health and safety. Through this stamp issuance, we
express our gratitude to all Frontline Heroes - especially those who
have lost their lives in order to safeguard the community against
the deadly disease. Frontliners face coronavirus for us. To give
back, we can fight for our Frontline Heroes by making a habit out of
practicing good hygiene, observing physical distancing, wearing
personal protective equipment like face masks, and keeping ourselves
informed.
