2021 YEAR OF THE OX (Chinese New Year)

The Chinese Zodiac has twelve representative animals, namely: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. In Chinese culture, when a person is born, it is said that the person exhibits the characteristics of the important animal they are born under, People born within the year of the Ox are associated with honesty and humility. They are also known to be kind, gentle, and steadfast.

The issuance features a 200-peso denomination souvenir sheet, and a se-tenant pair of 45 and 12-peso stamps in Miniature Sheet of 8 or four se-tenant pairs.

The lunar Year of the Ox officially begins on 12 February 2021, the year of the Metal Ox. The previous of Year of the Ox was in 2009, and the next comes in 2033. People born under the Year of the Ox include Manuel Tinio - the youngest general of the revolutionary government, thespian Honorata "Atang" de la Rama, and actor and director Paquito Diaz.
