National Stamp Collecting Month (NSCM) – President Fidel V. Ramos
President Fidel V. Ramos, 12th President of the Philippines (8th president under Republic of the Philippines) from 1992 to 1998. He was also an avid Stamp Collector, who declared November as National Stamp Collecting Month pursuant to Proclamation No. 494 issued in 1994.
The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) commemorates National Stamp Collecting Month and the 255th anniversary of the Philippine postal service with the launching of "National Stamp Collecting Month featuring Fidel V. Ramos" stamps and philatelic exhibit featuring items owned by Fidel V. Ramos, an FVR philatelic collection held at the lobby of the historic Manila Central Post Office Building in Liwasang Bonifacio today.
As someone who has a deep knowledge of stamp collecting, FVR has declared November of every year as National Stamp Collecting Month through presidential proclamation No. 494. He is instrumental in the promotion of Philately, which is the study and collection of stamps.
