University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine & Surgery (UST MED) - 150th Anniversary
The University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (USTFMS) is the medical school of the University of Santo Tomas, the oldest and largest Catholic university in Manila, Philippines. Established in 1871, the faculty is the first medical school in the Philippines. It is proclaimed to be a Center of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education.
At the end of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery’s (UST-FMS) 150th anniversary celebration, its Anargyroi Foundation, Inc. (AFI) held “Go Further: Beyond 150 Years – A Capital Campaign” on October 3, 2022, at the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes O.P. Building lobby.
The program recognized AFI’s current donors and pledgees, and served as an avenue to invite new potential donors. It also established the collaboration of AFI, University of Santo Tomas, and the alumni of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the first and oldest school of medicine in the Philippines, which has produced over 40,000 doctors.
UST-FMS commenced the celebration of its 150th anniversary through the Sesquicentennial Inaugural Ceremonies. Livestreamed through UST’s official Facebook page on May 28, 2021, the event was held at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
