Commission in Asia and the Far East
ECAFE
was established in
1947 to assist in post-WW II economic reconstruction. Its main
mandate was to "initiate and
participate in measures for facilitating concerted action for the
economic reconstruction and development of Asia and the Far East."
His Excellency President Manuel Roxas of the
Philippines opened the second session of ECAFE held in Baguio City,
November 24 to December 6, 1947.
