Provisional Issue - Prestige Booklets Surcharged to Current Postal Rates for International Mail

Due to operational requirements and to dispose of the Philippine Centennial Prestige Booklets issued in 1998 which are being sold at a 50% premium over face value and which includes five booklet panes with denominations that are mostly obsolete, the Philippine Postal Corporation issued four stamps from the booklets surcharged to current international mail rates.

The five booklet panes were detached and surcharged in black:  4p Spoliarium in block of four; 16p Rizal stamp; 16p Bonifacio stamp;  8p Declaration of the First Independence in block of four.  The 20p stamp from the last pane was removed from the booklet and sold as is since the denomination is still usable.
