World Stamp Championship, Singapore

The 2004 World Stamp Championship will be held from August 28 to September 1 at the Suntec Singapore Halls, Singapore.  Sponsored by Singapore Post (SingPost) with William Tan Soo Heck as its Chairman, and, World Stamp Championship Organizing Committee headed by Koh Seow Chuan as President.

The Philippines is participating in the exhibition with several exhibits from local philatelists and Philpost will be represented by a local dealer,Stamp Shop,  at the Trade Booths.

For the occasion, Philpost will issue a modified version of the Philippine Bonsai souvenir sheet (issued on July 27, 2004).  The four Bonsais featured, are the same, but the background were changed to the "vanishing" type.  The denominations of two of the stamps were changed so that the face value for the souvenir sheet will have a total of 17p, the postal rate for Asian countries. The right margin is completely new.  Aside from the show’s logo and text, and, Philpost logo, it includes the message “Greetings from the Philippines” printed in red.
