Every fifth day of October is designated as National Teachers’ Day pursuant to Republic Act No. 10743. October 5 of every year is also when the culminating activities for National Teachers’ Month are held. Teachers make invaluable contributions to the nation as the pillars on which Philippine education stands. Filipino teachers are rightly identified by the theme, “Gurong Pilipino, Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino”. They not only educate in the academic sense – but are also dignified beacons of imitable, good morals who guide and illuminate the paths of students towards a bright future.
