1948 United Nations FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) Conference

The 1948 regional conference of FAO was held in Baguio City from February 3 to March 17, 1948.

FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN).  Its main objectives are:  to raise levels and standards of nutrition and living globally;  to secure improvements in the efficiency of the production and distribution of all food and agricultural products, including sound management and sustainable utilisation of national resources; and, to better the condition of rural populations.  It would, in this way, contribute towards an expanding world economy and ensure humanity's freedom from hunger.
